Attachment G - Label requirements

The labels must have the information below, all in Portuguese:

(    ) Product denomination – general rule: Wine + Class + Color + Sugar Content + Grape.
*Important: the denomination must be described exactly in the order mentioned in the general rule or in accordance with local legislation – IN DIPOV 01/2019. Example: “Vinho Fino Tinto Seco Malbec”. Grape information is optional, being allowed to mention only one grape variety if it represents at least 75% of the grapes used in its preparation, otherwise it is not allowed to inform the grape varieties in the denomination. There are exceptions to the general rule, for this reason, validate the final description with the importer before printing the labels, avoiding problems in Brazil. For example, in the case of Moscato wines, the sugar content cannot be included in the denomination. See below for more details on the general rule:

(    ) Denomination font size: at least in the height below, which varies with the content:

(     ) Denomination location: must be placed on the back label, and may be in sticker, as long as it is in continuity against the back label, positioned above or below it, and that the information is in the same direction as the other information (horizontal ).

(    ) Denomination highlight: the font must be in bold, highlighted from other information and in a contrast against the background color.

OTHER LABEL INFORMATION:

(    ) MANUFACTURE/ BOTTLER: Full information of the manufacture or bottler.

(    ) IMPORTER: full information of the importer with address including zip code, tax ID and corporate name:

(    ) MAPA REGISTRATION NUMBER: inform the importer’s MAPA registration number. If it is Java Trading, inform “REGISTRO MAPA N°: SC 000995-4”. This information must be placed right after the IMPORTER/Java Trading information in the label, if it is placed elsewhere, it must be stated that it is the importer’s registration in MAPA. For example: ” Registro do Importador no MAPA: SC 000995-4″. Attention, the font size must be at least in the height below, which varies with the content:

(    ) DISTRIBUTOR: inform full distributor information in the label. Confirm if it is a direct import modality. If so, use the same information of the Importer. However, if it is “on behalf of” import modality or “under request” import modality, you need to request to importer the “acquirer” full information to include in the label:

(    ) INGREDIENTS: or INGR.: inform the Ingredients list, ex. “uvas viti viníferas”

(    ) ADDITIVES: it is necessary to inform the additives that eventually appear in the wine, which must be placed right after the ingredients. The function of the additive must be informed, which can be “Acidulant”, “Antioxidant”, “Conservative” among others. In addition, it is necessary to inform the full name of the additive or by its INS code, which is the International Food Additive Numbering System. It is important to validate with the importer which additives are allowed in accordance with Brazilian legislation, as well as their maximum limits and conditions of use. Below is a table with the additives authorized to use in wines, their respective functions, maximum limits and conditions of use:

(     ) Brand: must be informed on the label and on the back label.

(     ) Content: must be informed on the front label, using the following measurement unit:

Attention, the font height must be at least equal to the height below:

(   ) Alcohol content: it may be informed on the label or on the back label, check if the alcohol content is within the limits of the wine class, its allowed alcohol content higher than the maximum range, as long as we receive the typicality statement.

(    ) BATCH: batch information.

(    ) Expiry date: it must be informed, it may be undetermined if the alcoholic content is greater than 10%.

(     ) Grape variety: it is allowed to inform on the label or add to its denomination the name of only one grape variety, as long as it represents at least 75% of the grapes used in its preparation. When the wine is made with more than one grape variety of the same species, the names of these varieties can be mentioned only in the label, in descending order of the quantities present in the composition.

(      ) Harvest: it is allowed to inform the harvest as long as at least 85% of the product is obtained from grapes of the indicated harvest.

(     ) “Organic” seal: it is allowed but it must be according with the seal of the Brazilian System of Organic Conformity Assessment, as indicated below:

MANDATORY STATEMENTS: it must be in bold and/ or uppercase fonts, distinct and easy to read:
